As the Texas State Musician of the year, she is interested in raising awareness through music to save Austin Schools. She has raised thousands of dollars for the Dallas Dance for Life, House the Homeless, and other Homeless Shelters. She has visited Romania and delivered clothing, money, and supplies to orphans. She even ties her music into helping others. She is a part of Artistic and Recreational Therapies (ARTS) where she performs for children in burn units, AIDS, and stroke victims. In 2004 she was the National Ambassador for Half Price Books visiting hospitals and schools across the U.S where she performed and read to the children.
